Knox forgot to put syrup on his waffles and was complaining about having to get up again to go get it. Speedy jokingly offered him the ketchup that was sitting on the table as a replacement. Knox said absolutely not, but Sergeant “I’ll eat anything with anything” Kess wanted to know what was wrong with ketchup on waffles. Knox then decided to make it abundantly clear that ketchup is an affront to waffles, and that this was a hill he was prepared to die on.
